Huawei Ascend P1 LTE will be India’s First 4G Smart Phone
The Chinese smart phone manufacturer, Huawei recently announced its 4G enabled smart phone in India in association with Bharti Airtel and Snapdragon Qualcomm India, dubbed as the Huawei Ascend P1 (LTE).
Ironically, Bharti Airtel is the only telecom company in India so far that provides 4G, and hence Huawei will be the first Smart phone in the Indian market with a 4G LTE (Long Term Evolution) chip on-board. This chip is capable of receiving 4G signals of the radio frequency.
Airtel has already started its operations of providing 4G services in two metro cities in India namely Bangalore and Kolkata. 4G operations are also on the talks for Pune city. 4G is often abbreviated as 4th generation, is a technology that is superior to 3G. The 4G technology is capable enough to provide internet speeds up to 100Mbps on paper. But as of now you can expect internet speeds upto 21Mbps.
Now that, India is going to get its first 4G smart phone with Airtel as the carrier, we will tell you our insights based on this smart phone followed by a tabular representation of the specs sheet.
The Huawei Acsend P1 LTE has a stunning display measuring 4.3 inches diagonally. The display has a scratch resistant Corning Gorilla Glass protection. There are three touch buttons on the face of the device (at its bottom). These buttons are the back, home and the options buttons respectively. The volume rocker keys are ergonomically placed on the top left edge.
The display seems to be good with Corning Gorilla Glass protection and a 4.3 inch size with 540×960 pixel resolution. The large display size allows the user to better target the keys while typing and also improves the readability on screen. It is based on the Super AMOLED (Active Matrix Organic LED) concept which is mostly seen in smartphones by Samsung.
Huawei is really providing some high quality cameras on board for this handset. There’s a front camera with a 1.3 MP resolution intended for video calling. The back shooter has a magnificent resolution of 8 MP with an LED Flash as well. This snapper is capable of shooting videos at a rate of 30 frames per second (fps) at a High Definition resolution of 1080p.
This LTE version of the device, which is made for the Indian 4G markets, consists of a Dual Core processor based on the Snapdragon Qualcomm S4 architecture, clocked at 1.5 GHz. Such a processor is expected to function even better than a 2 GHz single core processor. Apart from the CPU, there’s also an Adreno 225 GPU which is designed to handle 2D/3D graphics efficiently.
The processor specifics seem to be quite good. With such specs, it is expected that the device won’t have frequent system freezes or frequent crashing of apps and its functioning will be very smooth.
As far as the storage options are concerned, there will be a 1 GB RAM + 4 GB internal memory, based on NAND Flash technology, out of the box. Although this storage option might seem enough, there’s another option of having an SD card up to 32 GB as well.
It is advised that even when there’s an option of adding a high expandable external memory, one must not pimp it up to the maximum level since it would slow down the phone. Moreover, much of this space would be completely useless! Believe it or not..
For you to better understand all the specifics of this phone, we have tabulated it..
